Al Manshar Complex

Fahaheel, Kuwait

Al Manshar Complex is a prime example of successfully combining traditional souk-like streets with modern tensile fabric roof structure, creating a complex that is spacious and airy with exposed high tech services.

This project was an upgrade to the complex originally built in the 1970s and had been enriched with a variety of functional volumetric spaces.

The main functional axis runs between the semi-enclosed court, used as a parking area and leads straight through to the commercial streets. Many architectural features are used, providing this complex with an easily recognizable image, overall portraying a modern Arab style tent and similar in overall style to the nearby Al Kout Mall.
